Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026. Written in plain language, because that is the whole point of this site.

The short version: Tools run in your browser. Your files are not uploaded to our servers. We use Google Analytics and Google AdSense to measure traffic and show ads. Nothing else you do on this site is sent to anyone.

1. What never leaves your device

Every tool on ToolWow runs entirely in your browser. When you use the Image Compressor, Merge PDF, or any other tool, your file or text is read by your browser, processed on your device, and written back to your downloads folder. It is not uploaded, not stored, not logged, and not visible to us — there is no server component that could see it. We also never record file names or the contents of anything you paste, type, or upload, and no analytics event ever includes your text.

2. What we do collect (and why)

Usage analytics — Google Analytics 4, only with your consent

When you accept the cookie banner, the site sends anonymised usage events to Google Analytics: which page or tool you opened, the file type when a file is processed (for example "png" — never the file name or its contents), how far you scroll on a guide, and the domain of any external link you click. We use this to understand which tools are useful and where guides stop making sense. It does not identify you as a person, and it cannot include your data.

Advertising — Google AdSense

ToolWow uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads, and you can learn how Google uses data at the Google Help Centre.

Optional account (sign-in)

Signing in is optional — every tool works without an account. If you create an account, your email address and password are stored and managed by Netlify's identity service (a third-party authentication provider). We do not store, sync, or read anything you enter into the tools, and none of it is tied to your account. You can request deletion of your account at any time by emailing saadecommeres@gmail.com.

3. Your consent, and how to change it

The cookie banner at the bottom of every page asks before any analytics or advertising cookie is set. Clicking Accept All enables analytics and advertising cookies; clicking Decline keeps the site fully functional with neither. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's local storage (browser settings → site data → toolwow.site) and revisiting — the banner will appear again. We follow the IAB Europe / TCF-style Consent Mode: when consent is declined, Google is told to treat all ad and analytics storage as denied.

4. Where the data goes, and how long it is kept

Analytics data goes to Google under its standard retention settings (2 months by default for analytics events). Ad-related cookies are managed under Google's advertising policies. Netlify stores your account credentials if you sign in, and serves this static site from its CDN. ToolWow's own hosting stores no personal data at all — it is a static website, so there is no database to breach, which is a deliberate architectural choice.

5. Children's data

ToolWow is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Because the tools process nothing on our servers, there is no data of any age group that we hold — but if you believe a child has created an account with us, email saadecommeres@gmail.com and it will be deleted.

6. Your rights

Under GDPR and similar frameworks (including UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data — in practice, your account, if you have one. Because analytics data is anonymised and no tool data is stored, the practical scope of a data request on this site is small, but the right is absolute. Email saadecommeres@gmail.com and it will be handled. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority; for UK residents that is the ICO, and for EU residents your national DPA.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, this page will be updated and the date above will change. Material changes will be noted on the home page for a reasonable period.

8. Contact

Questions, corrections, data requests: saadecommeres@gmail.com — answered personally, usually within a day. Or use the contact form.
