How to generate a QR code (3 steps)
- Paste what the code should contain — a link, a phone number, plain text, or vCard/Wi-Fi strings.
- Pick a size and error-correction level. M (balanced) is right for almost everything; raise to H if the code will sit under glass, on fabric, or get printed small.
- Generate and download the PNG — crisp at every size you choose, ready for print or screen.
Where QR codes earn their keep
Business cards and flyers that tap-to-visit your site, restaurant table codes pointing at a digital menu, event check-in codes, product traceability on packaging, and linking a printed document to its live online version. Generating locally means the encoded content — which is sometimes a private tracking link or internal URL — is never sent to a QR API for rendering.
FAQ
- What's the difference between L, M, Q, and H? Error-correction level: H can still be scanned with up to ~30% of the code damaged, at the cost of more modules (denser pattern) for the same data. L is fastest but fragile.
- How long can the text be? Up to about 2,900 alphanumeric characters at level L. Beyond that, shorten the content or use a URL shortener.
- Will it scan at small print sizes? A 600–1000 px export prints cleanly down to roughly 2×2 cm. Keep a quiet zone (white margin) around the code when placing it in a design.
