How to convert an image (3 steps)
- Pick the image you want to convert — JPG, PNG, WebP, or even a screenshot.
- Choose the target format: JPG for photos (smallest files), PNG when you need transparency or crisp edges, WebP for the best modern web compression.
- Adjust quality if needed (JPG/WebP only) and download. One click, no server, no watermark.
Which format should you pick?
JPG — photos and realistic images. No transparency support. PNG — logos, screenshots, diagrams, anything with flat colors or a transparent background. Lossless, but bigger for photos. WebP — supports both photos and transparency at roughly 25–35% smaller files than JPG; every modern browser supports it. Rule of thumb: photos → JPG (or WebP), graphics with transparency → PNG, web pages → WebP when you can.
FAQ
- Will my transparent background survive? It survives in PNG and WebP. Converting to JPG replaces transparency with a white background (JPG cannot store alpha).
- Why is my PNG bigger than the JPG? PNG is lossless and compresses photos poorly. For photographs, JPG at 80–90% quality is smaller and looks the same on screen.
- Does the image leave my device? No — conversion is done by your browser's canvas, entirely offline.
